Darren Shan Joins Voyager....

Sarah Hodgson, Senior Commissioning Editor, has acquired rights in The City Trilogy by D B Shan for HarperCollins’ Voyager list from the Christopher Little Literary Agency. The author is otherwise known as bestselling children’s writer Darren Shan, responsible for the highly successful The Saga of Darren Shan and The Demonata series. Hodgson said: ‘These edgy, noirish supernatural thrillers show us a different side to Darren’s writing while retaining his superb storytelling skills and ability to shock and thrill the reader. We’re looking forward to bringing Darren to a new adult audience with this hugely entertaining and inventive trilogy’. Voyager will publish the first title, Procession of the Dead in trade paperback in Spring 2008.

Superhero novelist to add to Voyager's list...

Astonishing new talent Vicki Petterson, authoress of the superhero fantasy title The Scent of Shadows has joined HarperVoyager thanks to the hard work of Commissioning Editor Emma Coode. Following hot on the high heels of such writers as Kim Harrison, Vicki has signed a deal that will see three titles hit the UK shelves over the coming year.

The Scent of Shadows came out of nowhere and slapped me silly. Vicki Pettersson is a new voice that needs to be heard’ Kim Harrison

‘The forces of Light and Dark battle over Las Vegas in this very exciting series… Read at your own risk – it’ll keep you up past your bedtime.’
Charlaine Harris

‘This moody, fast-paced debut falls into the growing 'dark fantasy' category, which blends fantasy, comic book superheroism and paranormal romance, but holds no promise of a happily-ever-after. ... Pettersson centers her story around the signs of the zodiac, putting an imaginative spin on a familiar setup. Though graphic scenes ... Will repel some readers, others will embrace pettersson's enduring, tough-as-nails heroine and anticipate gleefully the next volume.’  Publishers Weekly
